Avoid ETIAS scam websites
The only official ETIAS portal is travel-europe.europa.eu/etias. The fee is €20 — anyone charging more, asking for unrelated documents, or claiming "express processing" is a third-party reseller, not the EU. Apply directly to avoid overpaying.
The 30 Schengen countries that require ETIAS
ETIAS applies to 30 European countries, the 25 EU Schengen members, the 4 EFTA countries in Schengen, and Cyprus (joining in 2026). It does not apply to the UK or Ireland.

Countries where ETIAS does NOT apply
ETIAS is not needed for the United Kingdom (use UK ETA instead), Ireland (separate immigration system), or non-Schengen European microstates with their own rules. Travel to Russia, Belarus, Turkey, and Moldova is also outside ETIAS.
