    Frequently asked questions

Do I need a biometric passport for ETIAS?

Yes. Non-biometric passports are not accepted. Most passports issued after 2009 are biometric, check for the small chip symbol on the cover.

Can I apply for ETIAS without a confirmed flight?

Yes. You only need to state the first Schengen country you intend to enter. You don't need to upload tickets or hotel bookings.
