ETIAS cost: €20 per application

ETIAS costs €20 per application. It's a one-time fee that covers up to 3 years of travel (or until your passport expires). Several groups are exempt, see the breakdown below.

    The standard fee

€20 per applicant, paid by debit or credit card during the online application. The fee is non-refundable, even if your application is refused.

    Who is exempt

The following applicants must still apply but pay no fee:

    • Children under 18 at the time of application
    • Adults aged 70 or older at the time of application
    • Family members of EU/EEA/Swiss citizens exercising free-movement rights

    Hidden costs to avoid

Several third-party sites charge €40-€90 for ETIAS by adding "service" or "express processing" fees. There is no express processing, the official EU system already returns most decisions within minutes. Apply only at travel-europe.europa.eu/etias.

    Renewal cost

When your ETIAS expires after 3 years (or when your passport is replaced), you'll need to apply again and pay the €20 fee. There is no discounted renewal.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the ETIAS fee refundable if I'm refused?

No. The fee covers the application review, not approval. It is non-refundable regardless of outcome.

Do I need to pay every time I travel to Europe?

No. One €20 payment covers unlimited trips for up to 3 years.
